USING MY NEW STENCIL AND DIE CUT ,CREATING A NATURE CARD !!

I just bought a new birds die-cut and stencil, both from Tim Holz ,
and both wonderful, I think !!

I played around with them, creating this card ,also using old papers,
a bird cutout, from a nature book, laces, nature remnants  found on
the beach (for the nest)

a rusted piece of lace, which was rolled around a bundle of fabrics,
rusted pieces, teas and other strange things , and layed for some
months outside, while raining very much !!

Also the paper seen here was in the bundle. As you know I love the
nature tones , and materials, so here I`m back creating without
much colour again.

Also this little driftwood angel shows no real colour, but I love her
in nature wood, with white and a little gold !!

How are you all doing ? Here it is so cold again, grey skies, and also rain,
it almost seems we did not have any real summer this year , hopefully we
will have sunshine days in August !!

I hope you have a little sommer if living in the nordic hemisphere,
and wishes you a wonderful new week.

Hugs and love , Dorthe

A great way to spend rainy days Dorthe. You create with so many unique mediums which makes your artwork so beautiful. I really adore the lovely little driftwood angel!!!
I really do hope you get some sunny weather soon Dorthe. I know things have been rather chilly there this summer, so I hope to send you some beautiful summer days :))
much love...

Beautiful neutrals, Dorthe - and I just love your bird hanging. The textures are lovely, and the way the flying birds have music beneath their wings - singing as they fly, I'm sure. Love the fabrics and rusty elements, and the stencilled texture is perfect. The driftwood angel is so cool - a great combination of rustic elements and glamorous gilding.

Very cold and grey here too... let's hope for summer soon - or maybe in September when I actually have some free time!!

Oh Dorthe, the beauty of your card! This die cut is perfect for you, I associate birds and nature with your art style, you will work with this many, many times. I love the combination of laces and the stencilled texture and also the rusty elements - all gathered from the heart.
Your sweet driftwood angel - the colours are perfection, as is the angel herself.
A beautiful blog post.

Hello My Driftwood Artist,
This is such a yummy card mimicking the birds of nature. Those die-cut brids flying look so striking and love how the cut out bird stands out so beautifully against the textures of the rust dyed papers and fabrics.

These little driftwood dolls like this one are amongst my favourite artworks by you. She has the sweetest face and dressed in natural shades, a touch of lace, gold and wire. What more could a girl wish for!
Simply adorable! Art from the heart!!!

Oh Dorthe! What beautiful creations that are so you.
Extra special with your found nature treasures and such lovely patina from leaving your bundle out in nature for those months!
I wish I could send you some of our heat but with it would come very high humidity and that is not fun at all.
Tomorrow it will feel like over 100 F (37+ C).
We are grateful to have air conditioning and I have to stay indoors because the heat makes me feel blechhh.
I enjoyed clicking on your photos to see a closer look at all of the lovely details. Beautiful birds are lovely "friends of a feather" and you are so right "all we need is Love!".
Hugs and sunshine to you sweet friend

I love your little collage Dorthe - it's perfect in the "colours" you have used! The lace for the nest is such a good idea, and all of it, just lovely.
We have had a very hot summer here with very little rain - everything is so dry, and the plants look so tired now. Today it has finally cooled off a bit and we should get rain tomorrow - I hope so.
I hope the sun will shine on you this month!

Your creations are just beautiful! I always love seeing how you incorporate driftwood in your art. I have two "little pieces" from a quick excursion to the lake and maybe I will try to do some Dorthe styled art! ;-)

Your nature card and driftwood angel are so gorgeous sweetie! Wow! I love love the neutral tones. So funny to see you're going back to them too, as I had the same feeling and intention to play with neutrals as well. I love your use of nature finds and the rusty bundle project things you added to your beautiful card. Wonderful! Sending you big hugs and happy smiles xxx
