Dear friends, we have a new CHALLENGE over at
This months it is called : ANIMAL MAGIC
and as you can see I used one of Donna Grey`s wonderful quirky stamps,
of her cat Fred.
I started painting a greyboard panel with Ivory , and when dry used the Decorative Leaf
stencil , using Texture Paste , and onto the paste I sprinkled Baked Texture , Ancient Amber,
and left to dry .
I then found a smaller pannel, I wanted to stamp Fred the cat onto, and chose to do it on
the with of panel, and after cut to fit the size of the big panel.
I painted it with Mint and when dry stamped Fred using Archival Ink,
for the ink not to bleed . He was colored using watercolor pencils, in brown
tones. I wanted him to hide behind curtains, and ferns, and had a piece of rusted teabag
paper, on my table, which was perfect .
(you can rust papers, rolling them around some rusted items, place them in a container
and add a little water and vinegar- )
I tore the paper to fit the panel and adhered with a very thin layer of adhesive .
After I stamped the fish bone , from same stamp , in 3 places, and defined the eyes and
fish heads a bit , using white Sharpie.
The stenciled leaf now dry , was heated with my Heat Gun to change to a beautiful golden raised texture, and after , sprayed with Lustre Spray Aqua , which again
was sprayed with water to make it run a bit , down the panel.which was left to dry.
In between I stenciled some letters, -spelling Hiding - onto a reused brown paperbag, using Texture Paste - after dried they were cut out .
Fred panel was now adhered to the middle long panel ,
and the Fern stencil used to create a little fern hide away around him,
using Chestnut Brown paint dabbed onto the stencil , with a dry brush.
Lastly the letters were placed on top and button of panel , and black
ink smeared around the perimeter .
If you had the patience to read it all, I thank you , and send you
all good wishes for today. Please read below, if you want to be a part of the challenge ,
and have fun !!
Hugs and love
Dorthe

I love your fantastic Fred tag. The most clever way to use the rusted teabag - I love your design here Dorthe! Happy crafting my friend! Hugs, Susi
This is just adorable Dorthe. The background is wonderfully textured and Fred is so sweet hiding behind your teabag curtains. I always think his expression is priceless and it fits so well with your theme.

Love the amazing shimmer on your textures, Dorthe - and the little cat hiding at the centre of it all is so sweet. I'm still struggling to keep up with the craft world, but there's light at the end of the tunnel at the end of August, and I hope to get back in the swing of things properly then.
