Hello all, to the second round of our challenge over at :
This time, again I used, one of the wonderful White Greyboards
as background, and playing onto a piece of craft paper , I left the white
page up ,and only run around it with the Jet Black Archival ink.
The craft paper I tore in right side, and also went over the perimeter with ink .
The paper was given a gesso layer, and after I used a left over PDF piece ,from one of the sheets .
I dipped it into Black gesso, and used it as stamp, in 3 places--see the wonderful texture it gave .
On top of that, when dried, I stamped the beautiful butterfly from Collection stamp set 3
in two places on the paper .
They were also stamped onto a piece of fabric, using the stamp platform ,
stamping over again ,to give enough effect. They were fussy cut, and adhered on top of the other butterflies. In right side a little diluted black paint was, added and allowed to run.
In left side I used the new Stitch stencil ,and in right I sewed a line on sewing machine ,
adding a torn piece of old lace under.Another piece was sewed to the paper in lower left side.
Onto a paper scrap I wrote, : A stitch in time, and adhered it to the lace piece.
Lastly I used the new Apricot Multi Surface paint , in a few places , to add
a little color and to match the butterflies ., and of course I left the thread in long ends,
hanging from the panel , to which the finished creation, was adhered.
I hope you enjoy the challenges , where you know :

This is gorgeous Dorthe, what a brilliant idea to dip the MDF in gesso, it gives such a cool texture. I hope your sewing machine is behaving itself now! xx
The tiny shreds of old lace stitched to the piece are such lovely metaphors for the tenuous life of the butterfly, so pretty, my dear!! xoxo
Oh my goodness Dorthe, your work is beautifully detailed!
I enjoyed this post and will peek over to Thats Crafty to see more : )

This is a beautiful display Dorthe, the apricot works very well with the black. The layered Butterflies are like dear friends catching a moment together. Your faux and real stitching is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, holding those strips of lace just where they lay. A wonderful take on this months theme and I adore it.
Creative Hugs Tracey xx

Your fluttering butterflies are beautiful, Dorthe. I love the wisps of material and lace which add to the sense of movement and the lighter-than-air feeling. Wonderful!
