SOMETHING DIFFERENT

A notebook cover / book made for dear Martina on her birthday .
As I know she loves her garden, it is the theme for it.
And yes , not my normal style , but I wanted to create with
more colors for her , and this is what came out.

There are many different fabrics, and laces, too , and I
used paint to give a golden look ,in some places -

Different laces , borders, and a little bling .

The first spread is decked with Tim Holz tissue ,and I made
a pocket of the beautiful embroidered fabric , which was holding
a tag-card for Martina. Maybe you can see that the cover is made so
you can take out the book, and put inside a new one , or you could use it
for loose papers .
The velvet ribbon is tying it together when closed !!

Here with the tag inside pocket .

Thank you so much for looking and commenting, it means a lot to me !!
January is soon ending , and I hope your months has been a good one.
Wishes for a lovely new week to you all.
Hugs and love
Dorthe

Martina is a very lucky girl having you to influence her artistic talents. This is a beautiful gift from the heart that she will appreciate more as the years go by. Such lovely fabrics and bird images. The pale blue velvet ribbon is perfect.

I am featuring your card on my blog very soon, Dorthe. Wishes for a happy day to you.
Love,

What a delight to see Dorthe and I think Martina will be so happy to have received this sweet book. Full of the love for her garden. Lovely to see those colours matched with the buttons and ribbon. I can imagine you happily sewing and putting this together. The Tim Holtz birds collage has to be one of my favourite, so much that I do not want to use it.
So happy I got to pop over and see it up close, I would have been here earlier but we have had power cuts today. I'm taking my chance on leaving a comment in case we have another.
Thank you for your email, expect a reply from me over the weekend when I get a little quiet time.
Big Hugs Tracey xx

How lovely to see you playing with colour - there's so much heart and thought and love in this beautiful gift for Martina - I'm sure she will love it. The lace and the buttons provide lovely texture and dimension, and the little girl is so sweet. I love the page spread with the birds inside. So clever to make it a "refillable" cover too... when one book is full, you can start all over again!
