FOREVER AUTUMN

Yes Autumn is really here , and this new challenge
over at That`s Crafty Challenge Blog , asks for your creations
about  FOREVER AUTUMN , isen`t it a lovely titel !!

http://thatscraftychallenges.blogspot.dk/2017/09/forever-autumn-challenge.html

My own contribution started onto a Rounded  corners panel , which I
first sprayed with a very thinned Infusion in Terracotta ,left to dry and oversprayed
with Sleigh Blue, also thinned a lot.

After dried I dabbed with Distress Oxides  : Vintage Photo with a little
Iced Spruce on top here and there . The beautiful Dinky Stencil Spider Web was used in the
upper left corner , using Iced Spruce ,and in right corner I added a thin layer of
Distress Crackle paint ,Clear Rock Candy , and left to dry .

Embellishments were painted with the lovely new Multi Surface Paint ,
in Green - Red- Chestnut Brown and yellow, to try capture the
wonderful autumn tones.

The tall flower also had a coat of the Crackle paint and so did the butterfly and one of the toadstools .

After it had all dried I smeared Distress Ink Walnut stain onto the crackled places, and wiped off the extra ink .

I felt something was missing in the lover part of the panel and used
another great Dinky Stencil : Harlequin , also with the Iced Spruce.
Not too easy to see here , sorry !!

Then all the Embellishments were adhered ,onto scraps of lace
some dyed with the Infusions , -- the Butterfly and toadstools got copper thread
details ,to highlight a bit , and tiny cones from the wood were added too.
If you want to see details, just click the pictures :-)

Thank you if you followed me to here, dear friends ,

FLY AWAY !!!!!

A new challenge for you over at That`s Crafty Challenge Blog , http://thatscraftychallenges.blogspot.dk/     and this fortnight the challenge is : Fly Away ( wings and birds )  For me a very lovely  subject !

I started using one of my much loved Heart surfaces ,- gessoed it, and after painted with two new , beautiful colors from the Multi Surface Paints, Chestnut Brown and White, mixed together .
I wanted to create a frame with Tyvek and lace , so draw a pattern after the heart , and used it to cut, like a frame of the old lace , and another from Tyvek . Tyvek was sewed onto the lace, and after I burned it to create texture , made it roll together, and curl.

You can see here how it looks after I painted it with the Chestnut Brown and Metallic Bronze. The texture inside is tea-leaves from when drying the tea bags , after drinking my tea….. they make great wonderful texture J

I found some af my favorite Embellishments , Bits and Pieces Greyboard , from the following sheets  : Feathers and Wings, Christmas Birds, and Autumn/Winter ( Acorn ) , they were also gessoed ,and then painted with the same tones as the background, -the bird had a coat of Ice Blue to the wings,-
the leaves, of the acorns ,a touch of the Green, and after dried, I added details with the beautiful Metallic Bronze

The wings had two coats of Chestnut Brown, and after dry I added Distress Crackle Paint ,to the top of them, and also to the top of the birds wings. Both were painted with Distress Ink :Walnut stain ,after totally  dry,-- and after worked well into the crackle with a brush , I took away the coat on top ,with a piece of,  cloth .

Everything was added with the Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive ,--the bird got a lace piece in the   beak, two hearts from my box of “trash” were also adhered . The last thing to do, was adding a piece of Sari Silk to the two holes I had made using my Crop A Dille , one in each bow, -to make it possible hanging.

So this is my go , on this wonderful Challenge , and I hope I have inspired you ,to create something for it too.  As you might know :
The winner of the Challenge will receive a £20 voucher to spend in the online store. http://www.thatscrafty.co.uk/

Wouldn`t it be exiting !!!!  I hope to see you there  .

But here is mine , I hope you like it .
Hugs from Dorthe, xx

Using one of the fantastic  white greyboards as background , I first covered the white side of the greyboard, with gesso, and when dry stenciled one of my favorite stencils : The big flower , using texture paste .

When totally dry I started adding colors and pastes to the whole surface, painting some of them onto both stenciled areas , and the flat areas I left like that to add an image and other pieces .
I played with the Pastes from Pentart , and the Decoart   Media fluid Acrylics, to try to achieve the look of Rusted areas, in different stages, all over the surface, and in few places adhered sand from the beach, to show texture in the rust ,--when dry it was painted too. You can easily see it above in the photo.
I stamped the wonderful face onto tissue paper, using the Archival Ink Coffee, and adhered her to the panel, with Matte Medium . I then cut off a piece of Tyvek and draw an oval circle in the middle of the paper, which I cut out. Using my heat gun I now tried to make a frame for the face,  attacked from tear and rust, and when satisfied I painted it over also with the different pastes, and paint .

The same treatment of paste and paint , I gave the embellishments : cogs and clocks , a clips ,and two pieces of old lace from my stasch.
It was adhered with the great Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive.
The last thing to do was make a hole with my Crop-A-Dile  and put through a lovely piece of brown Sari Silk.
