EMELY AND HER SISTER JANE

SIMPLY NEUTRALS # 17

Emely and her dear sister Jane, are here perpetuated,
after a most wonderful evening in theater .watching
The Danish Royal Ballet , where the beautiful
flower was given to Emely from a handsome young dancer !!

( the old flower is one of many I received from a sweet costumer, whom
had the box of beauty, from one of the seamstresses working behind the scenes
in The  Danish Royal Theater )

Emely believes in being independent and
free, we will see what happens to that idea, later !!!!

Layers of lovely laces  !!

******************************************
And here a card ,where I used the wonderful birds serviette again,
together with a tree stamp and some indispensable laces!!

In fact the "lace" is from an old curtain ,which for some years hung in my mothers
first house, on Bornholm.

Thank you dear Wen

For this number 17 #  Simply Neutrals,-how quickly time flies ,
but I so enjoy linking to your beautiful party!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you so much, also , to you all, for visiting me here .
It always makes my day, reading your comments ,and kind greetings.
Hugs and love
Dorthe
Oh Dorthe, this is breathtaking!! I love all your beautiful layers of lace! It is gorgeous; and the story of Emiley and her sister Jane (I also have a sister Jane : )is enchanting~ What a wonderful "royal" flower! The sentiment is a wonderful
challenge ...'my own wings'... I really like that. Such a uniquely beautiful and enchanting page.
And your card is amazing Dorthe! I see how special the lace is~
How wonderful it hung in your mothers window! Such a sweet thing.
Love to you friend and have a great week! ~Karen O
Hello Dorthe,
Your book is coming along so beautifully, with its story unfolding - perhaps your story... i love your tree stamp, and the card is wonderful. Thank you so much for adding my blog to your list - I feel like you are helping to make me 'Real'. I got a surprise seeing it there!
Do you know the children's book "The Velveteen Rabbit' by Margery Williams? You can read the story here:
http://digital.library.upenn.edu/women/williams/rabbit/rabbit.html
There are many versions, illustrated more beautifully, but it's a great story.
Wishing you a gentle week of creating...
hugs,
Jesse
HI Dorthe. I love the photo and how you brought Emely's sister into the story. Your choices of laces are stunning, and your other piece was lovely also. It's so much fun to repurpose something in our art, such as old curtains. What's next for Emely? XO Sue
Det er nogle rigtig flotte blonder du har brugt på det første kort. Fuglene på servietten og ikke mindst nodebaggrunden er flot sat sammen med resten af pynten
Hi Dorthe, A visit to you is always a special treat. What a lovely story to go with your wonderful design. Your gorgeous lace work is a treasure. Love the lace curtain piece added from your mother and the history behind it for the tag. The card with the lace is very special. Love the verse. Thank you for sharing your talents with us all. You are gifted from above!! Blessings for a great weekend ahead. xo
Both girls are so pretty and you surrounded them beautifully with laces and other fabulous embellishments, dear Dorthe. I wonder if Emely might fall for the dancer eventually. You will let us know.
The card is very lovely as well. When I look outside, I can see some birds. They started tweeting and even the frogs already feel the spring and croak in a nearby pond.
Thank you for your email, sweetie!
Have a wonderful weekend! :)
Hugs and love,
Juia
Hello Dorthe,
Your lace art here is wonderful! Oh all those gorgeous layers, and the beautiful picture of the girls! That scalloped edged darker fabric looks really good on it too. So lovely! Is this one of your pages? I find the story you tell just perfect for the sisters. Your bird card too is wonderful as well.
Terri
That is a precious token from that young man too...the sweetest touch ♥
Your tree and birdies card is so lovely and made extra special by the bits of your mother's lace curtain. Oh how I Love that.
I too have some of my Mutti's lace curtain bits that I treasure.
Thank you sweetie, and I so enjoy the gorgeous creations you link to my party! :) Your book is becoming more and more beautiful each time I visit you! This is a gorgeous addition to the wonderful story you're telling. Looking forward to the next chapter!! And your card is so gorgeous too! I'm so sorry to be so absent on the internet dear, I had a nasty cold and am still exhausted of the wonderful baptism day of Sam. But I will put Simply Neutrals #18 on the blog today! Thank you for joining my party so faithfully! Sending you big hugs my friend, xx
Happy to meet Emely's sister Jane, and very pleased to hear there is a touch of romance in her life already... though perhaps a dancer is not the most reliable of husbands to choose, so perhaps it will be better to preserve the flower and the happy memory of a night at the theatre and move on. Gorgeous laces and details. I love the tree on the music paper - beautiful.
